Guidelines when you hit the age 20s, 30s and 40s

20's
Your skin at this age glows effortlessly and wrinkles have not yet visibly showed. This is your reign, the most glorious time of your life. Your youthfulness shines even without makeup. Believe it or not it is happening, because of factors such as stress, sun burn, drinking, and the environment in general. They are all potential factors that could harm your skin increasing the process of aging. Although you're not currently seeing any signs of aging or damage yet, prevention is still the main key here. Here are some tips to get you get started:

1) Hydration. Keep your skin hydrated at all time. Even if your skin is oily hydration is still the key, just alter the amount, type of moisturizer and cleanser you want to use. And remember to drink lots of water and eat lots of fruits and veggies. Tomatoes and green tea have tons of antioxidants, which protect you from free radicals from the sun.

2) Practice good skin care ritual. Wash your face with a cleanser at night and in the morning. Use moisturizer day and night after cleanser. Make sure you wipe away all your makeup with makeup remover prior to putting anything on your face! Oil cleansers may benefit people with dry skin, because they are great for taking off makeup and don't dry you out.

3) Don't exfoliate everyday! Once - twice a week is more than enough.

4) Wear sunscreen with at least SPF 15, even if you're inside. When you're outside, an SPF 30 or more is better.

5) Don't pick at your acne! I know that it is tempting but please, don't! Even if you just touch a pimple and then touching another part of your face, you're essentially spreading the bacteria.

6) It never too early to start using an anti-aging serum at this age.

7) Use an eye cream.

30's
When you make an expression, those pesky lines just don't go away instantly like they once did. Your skin won't be as radiant as it was, when you were in your 20's. The reason for this dullness is because your dead skin cells are not shedding as quickly as it used to.

1) An Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) based mask might be helpful.

2) Exfoliating is never as crucial before as it is now. Commit to a ritual of doing it twice a week.

3) Tips: To help fighting aging, drink a cup of warm water with half fresh lemon in it before breakfast and save the other half lemon. At night, after washing your face with a cleanser, use the other half of lemon, squeeze it onto a cotton ball, and rub it onto your face. Then wait for 10 minutes and rewash your face again with clean water. Lemon is a great purifier and skin brightening solution. It tightens, brightens and is a natural astringent. Apply moisturizer once your skin has fully dried! Try doing this for a week and see a difference.

4) Glycolic peels are great, but should be done in moderation. Always keep in mind that exfoliation is all about taking off the old dead skin, and not taking off the new skin underneath it.

5) If your skin is still lackluster, try using a serum with a vitamin A or retinol. Both ingredients help with fine lines, acne and uneven skin tone.

6) Wear a sunscreen of SPF at least 25 - 30 and pay attention to your neck and chest area. Your sunscreen at this point may need to be more hydrating than the type of sunscreen you once used.

7) Dry skin just make you look a lot older than you are. Make sure you use the right type of moisturizer and drink plenty of water and eat plenty of fruits and veggies. They may be important back then, but they are crucial for you now!

8) Please, quit smoking, drinking and sun-bathing!

9) Use anti-aging serum with oil base and eye cream.

40's
You're investing a lot time and effort trying to rescue and live your reign like you once did. The wrinkles, fine lines, etc. are taking over and your skin is trying so hard to combat. Your skin does not possess the same elasticity and  radiance. This happens because of the decrease in the hormone level in your body. This is also a time that I call "what goes around, comes around." You're paying back for all the bad habits in your early years. Cigarettes rob away the oxygen on your skin and giving it a grey-yellow tone. While sun worshiping causing sun spot and discoloration. No matter how expensive the skin care product is, I'm sorry you just cannot reverse signs of aging. They can "improve" it up to a certain level though, but not "curing" mature skin.

1) This is the time when face massaging is really needed. It is crucial to massage it right, and using upward motion. Massaging helps decrease the puffiness around the eyes and cheeks.

2) Hydration.

3) Exfoliate 3 times a week to improve sun spot and discoloration

4) Stay away from gel-based cleanser because it can dry you out.

5) Use serum that targeting specifically to your concern

6) Make sure to use a hydrated eye cream

7) Wear a sunscreen.
